Invisalign before and after

What exactly are invisible braces?

Invisible braces are the modern replacement for conventional train track orthodontic braces. Our Invisible Braces in Portishead offer a sequence of clear plastic orthodontic aligners which you wear in sequence, each aligner moves the teeth a little amount. This technique has been popularised in the UK by Invisalign® Aligners with over ten million cases now being undertaken worldwide. As with any treatment we always work out the cost of your invisible braces before we start any treatment, and provide you with a detailed treatment plan which sets out:

  • The cost of Invisalign® Aligners
  • The Invisalign Aligner Treatment Process
  • Your tailored Treatment Plan
  • How many aligners we think you will need

Will Invisalign® Aligners be painful?

In most cases Invisalign Aligners are completely painless. Whenever braces are worn you will notice that there is some gentle force being applied to your teeth,  this is necessary if we are to move your teeth, nevertheless minimal discomfort is most likely what you will feel.

If I’m not suitable for Invisalign® Aligners, what alternatives are there?

Evolve Dentistry offers a complete range of orthodontic treatment in a comfortable and modern environment. Although Invisalign® Alginers are popular because they are almost invisible and can be removed for eating and cleaning, we appreciate that it may not be right for you. Following a detailed assessment, you will be offered a range of treatment options which are suitable for correcting your orthodontic problems, which fit in with your lifestyle and together with your orthodontist you can make a decision about what is best for you.

How much will it cost?

Please refer to price list on our website or give us a call on 01275 842 550, payment is due in full prior to the brace being fitted.

What finance options are available?

It’s easy to pay for your orthodontic treatment at Evolve Dentistry. We offer three options, you can either pay in full at the start of your treatment, or you can opt for finance. We offer 10 months interest-free finance for treatment up to £1,000 or 24 months finance for any amount over that. Everyone’s teeth move at different rates, your treatment may take more or less time than we predict, this does not affect the total cost that you pay.

Top 10 FAQs about Invisalign

  1. What is Invisalign and how does it work?

Invisalign is a modern orthodontic treatment that uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gently straighten your teeth. Each set of aligners is custom-made to gradually move your teeth into their ideal position. They’re nearly invisible and more comfortable than traditional metal braces.

  1. How long does Invisalign treatment take?

Treatment duration varies depending on individual cases, but most people complete their Invisalign journey in 6 to 18 months. Your dentist or orthodontist will provide a personalised estimate after your initial consultation.

  1. Is Invisalign suitable for everyone?

Invisalign can treat a wide range of orthodontic issues, including overcrowding, gaps, cross bites, overbites and underbites. While it’s suitable for most teens and adults, a consultation with an Invisalign provider in Portishead will determine if it’s the best option for you.

  1. How much does Invisalign cost in Portishead?

Costs can vary depending on the complexity of your case. On average, Invisalign treatment in the Portishead area typically ranges from £3,025 to £5,000. Evolve Dentistry offer interest-free finance plans to make treatment more affordable.

  1. Are the aligners really invisible?

Invisalign aligners are made from a clear, medical-grade plastic, making them virtually invisible when worn. Most people won’t even notice you’re having orthodontic treatment.

  1. Can I eat and drink normally with Invisalign?

Yes – one of Invisalign’s biggest advantages is that the aligners are removable. You’ll take them out to eat and drink, so there are no food restrictions. Just remember to brush your teeth before putting them back in.

  1. How often do I need to wear the aligners?

For best results, you should wear your aligners for 22 hours per day, only removing them to eat, drink, brush and floss. Consistent wear is key to achieving your desired smile.

  1. Will Invisalign affect my speech?

You may notice a slight lisp during the first few days as your tongue adjusts, but this usually disappears quickly. Most patients speak normally within a week of starting treatment.

  1. How often will I need to visit the dentist during treatment?

Invisalign typically requires fewer appointments than traditional braces. You’ll usually visit your dentist every 6 to 8 weeks to monitor progress and collect your next set of aligners.

  1. What happens after my Invisalign treatment ends?

To maintain your new smile, you’ll need to wear a removable retainer – usually at night. You will also have a fixed retainer fitted as part of your package with Evolve Dentistry.

iTero Scanner

We are very proud to be a digital scanning practice. You will no longer need to have impressions taken for your Invisalign treatment, a simple scan will enable the Dentist to show you a full simulation of what your smile could like after Invisalign treatment and also allow us to track your treatment progress to ensure that you’re treatment is progressing as it should be.

Useful information

What is an iTero scanner?

An iTero scanner is an intra-oral digital scanner which creates a digital 3D image of your teeth. This can be used before, during and after braces, it can also be used to send the digital scan to a dental laboratory for restorative work such as crowns, bridges or veneers.

What is an orthodontist?

An orthodontist is a dentist who has done additional training, between 3-5 years on top of their dental degree.

What do I do if my brace breaks?

We recommend that if you have any concerns about your brace, to contact your practice to see if you need to be seen by the dentist or orthodontist.

Can my child come on their own?

It is recommended that children are always accompanied by an adult who is in a position to consent to any necessary treatment or x-rays.

What Invisalign means?

Invisalign is the brand name of a clear aligner system.

Which works best, Invisalign or ceramic braces?

They both work very well and it is usually recommended that you have the brace that suits your lifestyle and budget. Generally, ceramic braces are less expensive than Invisalign but are more visible, but you must have the discipline to wear the aligners as prescribed by your dentist or orthodontist. So, it’s down to an honest discussion with your clinician about which is the best option for you.
