Top 10 FAQs

1. What is wrinkle smoothing treatment and how does it work?

Wrinkle smoothing treatment, often referred to as anti-wrinkle injections, involves the use of a purified protein to temporarily relax targeted facial muscles. This reduces the appearance of fine lines and dynamic wrinkles, particularly around the forehead, eyes, and frown lines, giving the skin a smoother, more youthful appearance.

2. Is wrinkle smoothing treatment safe?

Yes, when administered by a trained and qualified professional, wrinkle smoothing treatments are considered safe and effective. The procedure is quick, minimally invasive, and has a strong safety record with millions of treatments carried out worldwide each year.

3. How long do the results last?

The effects typically last between 3 to 4 months, depending on the individual’s metabolism, lifestyle, and treatment area. With regular maintenance treatments, the longevity of results may gradually improve.

4. Does the treatment hurt?

Most patients describe the sensation as a slight pinprick. The needles used are extremely fine, and the procedure is generally well-tolerated. Some clinics offer a topical numbing cream to enhance comfort if required.

5. What areas can be treated?

Common areas include forehead lines, crow’s feet (lines around the eyes), frown lines (between the eyebrows), and bunny lines (around the nose). Some clinics also treat jawline tension and chin dimpling, depending on individual needs.

6. How quickly will I see results?

Initial results can be seen within 3 to 5 days, with full results visible after around 10 to 14 days. Your practitioner may schedule a follow-up to review your treatment outcome and make minor adjustments if necessary.

7. Are there any side effects?

Side effects are usually minimal and temporary. These may include slight redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site. Rarely, there may be a mild headache or temporary drooping of nearby muscles, which typically resolves on its own.

8. Can I return to work after treatment?

Yes, most people resume normal activities immediately after the procedure. It’s advised to avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, and rubbing the treated area for at least 24 hours.

9. Who is suitable for wrinkle smoothing treatments?

This treatment is ideal for adults looking to reduce the appearance of fine lines and dynamic wrinkles. A full consultation is carried out to assess suitability, taking into account your medical history and aesthetic goals.

FREQUENTLY ASK WRINKLE CLINIC QUESTIONS

What is involved in the treatment?

After a consultation to ensure that there is no medical reason that Azzalure would be unsuitable, the areas to be treated are agreed and a consent form is signed. The actual treatment is a series of injections that take a short time to inject.

How long before I see the results?

It takes between 5-14 days for the effect to be seen. The effects last for between 2-3 months.

Who can’t have this treatment?

Amongst those that can’t have this treatment are pregnant and breastfeeding women and anyone who suffers form a neuromuscular disease, such as MS or motor neurone disease. At Evolve we carry out a full consultation before commencing treatment to ensure it is suitable for you.

Is it safe?

Yes it is in the quantities that it is injected for cosmetic reasons. There can be some redness, swelling or bruising after treatment. In very rare cases there can be eyelid or eyebrow drooping.

What is a dermal filler?

Dermal fillers are used to plump up the skin. They are injected in and around the lips and in the creases that run from the nose to the mouth. The product used at Evolve Dentistry is Juvederm Ultra, a hyaluronic acid that is naturally found in the body when we are young.

How long before I see the results?

You will see the results immediately, though there is a little more improvement over the next 2-3 days as the product attracts water to the area. The effects can last between 6 to 9 months.

What is involved in the wrinkle clinic treatment?

Following a consultation and agreeing on the areas that need treatment, a consent form is signed. Then the area to be treated is usually made numb and the filler is then injected.

Is it safe?

Yes, because it is a product that is naturally produced when we are younger, it is not necessary to patch test. After treatment though, there may be bruises or swelling.

When is root canal treatment needed?

It’s a question many patients ask — and in this video, Richard explains it clearly and simply.

Root canal treatment is usually needed when the nerve inside a tooth becomes inflamed or infected. This can happen because of deep decay, a crack in the tooth, repeated dental work, or sometimes after an injury.

You might experience symptoms like persistent toothache, sensitivity to hot or cold that lingers, pain when biting, or swelling around the gum. However, sometimes there are very few symptoms at all — which is why regular check-ups at the practice are so important.

The good news is that root canal treatment is designed to relieve pain, not cause it. It removes the infection, saves the natural tooth, and helps you avoid extraction.

Watch Richard’s video to understand the signs to look out for — and if you’re worried about a tooth, get in touch with our reception team for advice.

Love a sweet treat? Jane shares a simple swap that your teeth will thank you for.

Sticky sweets cling to your teeth and sit in the tiny grooves for longer, feeding the bacteria that cause decay. The longer they stick around, the more damage they can do.

Instead, try swapping them for crunchy veg or a handful of nuts. Foods like carrots, cucumber and peppers have a natural crunch that helps stimulate saliva, which protects your teeth. Nuts are also a lower-sugar option and far less likely to cling to enamel.

Small changes really do make a big difference over time.
