Dermal fillers are a simple way to restore lost volume to your face. They reduce the appearance of fine and deep lines; enhance lips, cheeks and temples, giving you a visibly more youthful appearance.
Many patients ask if they’re safe, and if the procedure is painful. Most of all, they want to know if the end result will look artificial – as if they’ve had ‘cosmetic work done’? Our approach to facial aesthetics is the same as it is to your smile: We’ll help you achieve a truly natural result, enabling you to look and feel your best self.
It’s a relatively straightforward treatment – but anyone thinking of this enhancement should consider the three Ws: What do I really want to achieve? Who can I truly trust to help me? And Which tried and tested, methods and materials do they offer?
What do you want to achieve? Before your appointment, we’ll discuss your ideal outcome in a proper consultation. Is your goal to add fullness to thinning lips, enhance or fill-in shadow areas? Or simply to soften static wrinkles, especially on the lower face, caused by a loss of collagen and elasticity in the skin over time? Some patients have specific aims – to fill or soften small recessed scars. The important point is that each patient is different, and it’s not up to the practitioner to dictate the end result – but you, with our help and guidance.
Who can you truly trust? Firstly it’s a good idea to check your filler expert works from a place registered with the Care Quality Commission, guaranteeing unrivalled hygiene and safety. You might also think about who is truly qualified in the anatomy of the face – particularly experience with injections. Whilst many patients describe the feeling as ‘like a scratch’, most of us are naturally nervous about needles. Few clinical professionals can have gained as much experience as a qualified dentist when it comes to managing any anxiety or discomfort with patients.
Which methods and materials? We choose to use hyaluronic acid, as it’s a material with no reported incidence of allergy – so very safe indeed. It’s name sounds somewhat scary, but our skin naturally produces this to maintain moisture levels. As a result of ageing and environmental aggressors on a daily basis, our levels fall over time: So it’s a natural choice for smoother, more hydrated skin. We use formulations of different consistency for each part of the face, to achieve the look and feel needed to be your best self.
Whether you’ve been considering how dermal fillers could help you for some time, or you’re naturally curious and at the early stages of thinking about a more youthful appearance – come and meet us for a 20-minute, no-obligation consultation to answer any questions you may have, call us on 01275 842 550 to book.

Will composite bonding damage my teeth?
It’s a common concern, especially for patients who want to improve their smile while protecting their natural teeth.
The good news is that composite bonding is often one of the most conservative cosmetic dental treatments available. In many cases, little or no preparation of the tooth is required, meaning your natural tooth structure can be preserved.
Composite bonding can be used to improve the appearance of:
✔ Chipped teeth
✔ Small gaps between teeth
✔ Uneven tooth shapes
✔ Worn edges
✔ Minor imperfections
Because the treatment is minimally invasive, many patients choose composite bonding when they want to enhance their smile without significant changes to their natural teeth.
Every smile is unique, so we’ll always discuss your options and explain exactly what’s involved before any treatment begins.

Reading comments like this reminds us why we do what we do.
Helping people feel comfortable and cared for is just as important as providing great dentistry.
Thank you for your kind words.
You could be grinding your teeth every night… without even knowing it. 😴
Many people assume they’d know if they were clenching or grinding their teeth.
In reality, most don’t.
As Richard explains, while we’re asleep our brains continue processing the events and stresses of the day. For some people, that stress is released through clenching or grinding their teeth - but because the part of the brain that would normally recognise it is effectively switched off during sleep, we often have no idea it’s happening.
Over time, tooth grinding can contribute to:
• Worn or chipped teeth
• Jaw pain or stiffness
• Morning headaches
• Sensitive teeth
• Disrupted sleep
If you’ve noticed any of these symptoms, it’s worth mentioning them at your next appointment. We can look for the signs of tooth grinding and discuss ways to help protect your teeth before more damage occurs.
Have you ever been told you grind your teeth, or has someone heard you doing it while you sleep?

🚦 Travelling to Evolve? Please allow a little extra time.
If you’re visiting us over the next few weeks, please be aware that there are temporary traffic lights on the Portbury Hundred until 10th August, which are causing delays, particularly at busier times of the day.
We’d hate for your journey to add any unnecessary stress, so if you have an appointment with us, we’d recommend allowing a little extra travel time.
If you think you may be delayed, please give our reception team a call and we’ll do everything we can to help.
Thank you for your patience, and we look forward to welcoming you to the practice. 💙
