Profhilo treatments represent the latest in dermal filler technology. It consists of an injectable filler that contains the highest concentration of HA currently available on the market. The 5-point injection technique of the Profhilo system allows for consistent results in improving skin laxity, tightening the skin while increasing skin health and moisture for progressive results after only two sessions.

What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is a revolutionary new product that was launched in Europe in 2015 and in the UK in 2016. It contains the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid available in the UK, containing no chemicals and is thermally stable. All this means is that is it a wonderful product designed to address skin laxity in a remarkable way. Skin laxity occurs when you see fine lines on the face and neck that are not suitable for toxin treatment or traditional fillers. Profhilo spreads like runny honey under the skin to stimulate bio-remodelling at cellular level, it does not change the structure of your face and therefore the results are very natural, true facial rejuvenation. You will get the Profhi-glow!

What is involved in Profhilo treatment?

After a consultation to ensure that Profhilo is the right treatment for you, you will need 2 treatments 4 weeks apart. On the face Profhilo is injected in 5 points each side of your face or 10 points in the neck. Each point is carefully marked prior to treatment so that the best outcome is achieved.

Does it hurt?

It is not a completely pain free treatment but the discomfort is minimal and short lasting.

What are the risks?

Like most facial aesthetic treatments that involve injections, there is a risk of bruising and slight swelling. We would not recommend this treatment just prior to a big work or social occasion but this would be discussed at your consultation.

Who cannot have Profhilo?

It is not recommended that you have this treatment if you have an active skin infection or a cold sore. Similar to many facial aesthetic treatments, you should not have Profhilo if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or actively trying to get pregnant.

How long until I see results?

You will gradually see an improvement in your skin over the first 2-3 weeks and final results can be seen 4 weeks after your second treatment. It is always recommended that you have two treatments, very occasionally, you may need a third treatment. Again, this would be discussed at your consultation.

How long does Profhilo last?

The results will last between 4-6 months, if you then want to maintain the benefit of Profhilo, you are advised to have another treatment after 4 months. For maintenance, you would only need 1 treatment at 4 months.

6. Is Profhilo a dermal filler?

No, Profhilo is not a traditional filler. While it contains hyaluronic acid, its purpose is to hydrate and bio-remodel the skin rather than add volume or structure.

7. Is the treatment painful?

Discomfort is minimal. Profhilo is injected using a very fine needle into five specific points on each side of the face, known as the BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) technique. Most patients in Portishead find the treatment very tolerable, and it’s usually completed in under 15 minutes.

8. Are there any side effects or downtime?

Side effects are minimal and may include slight redness, swelling, or small bumps at the injection sites, which typically resolve within 24 hours. There’s little to no downtime, so most people can return to daily activities straight away.

9.Can Profhilo be combined with other aesthetic treatments?

Yes, Profhilo can be safely combined with other treatments such as wrinkle smoothing, dermal fillers, microneedling, and skin boosters. I needed eight amalgam fillings removed using the SMART protocol, which ensures removal is done as safely as possible. I researched dental practices adhering to this practice near to where I lived. There were a couple but I chose Evolve dentistry in Portishead even though it was neally 40 miles from my house. They were the most efficient and caring of the two. All the staff ensured that my whole experience went smoothly, which really eased my anxiety. If you have any queries they are always answered very promptly. I felt very relaxed in Carol's hands as she is very experienced in amalgam filling removal, I hardly felt the injections and although the process could look quite daunting it really wasn't. I had them removed in three sessions and after my first session I knew what to expect and I was not anxious at all for the following two sessions. I would highly recommend Carol and her dental practice to anyone looking to have amalgam fillings removal done. Thank you so much Carol and all your team for such an excellent experience.

I went into surgery after an accident and the lady on reception was so kind and booked me to be seen very quickly by Dr Ford, my mouth was very swollen and painful but he was so gentle looking to see what had happened, treatment was explained and then time was made that day for it to get me out of pain.I was very nervous of my tooth being touched, but Dr Ford took such care and patience and made sure I was comfortable throughout the procedure and didn’t feel pain, he even then fashioned my tooth so it looked like nothing had happened!

I had dentures made at Evolve Dentistry in Portishead by Mike and his assistant Jess, and I honestly cannot thank them enough.Mike is truly special. He’s refreshingly honest and straight-talking – no sugar-coating, no false promises – just clear and direct about what he was going to do and what to expect. I found that honesty so reassuring. And then there’s Jess, who is warm, calming and so supportive throughout. Together they make the perfect team: Mike’s skill and precision, with Jess’s kindness and care. They really are phenomenal at what they do.The change has been incredible. I underestimated just how good the result would be. My new smile has given me a whole new sense of confidence. I’m 58, and I was so worried dentures would look obvious or make me look older – but it’s been the complete opposite. During lockdown my gums became very badly inflamed as I couldn't attend my 3 monthly hygienist appts...On movingbyo Portishead I signed on with Evolve who referred me to a private specialist Orthodontist.This meant a sustained period of specialist treatments to get the inflammation under control ..I am now on a maintenance programme & Evolve ultimately we're able to fit a porcelain crown to save a tooth that was in a poor condition. In effect they've given me my smile back.[ It's great that they have interest free loans too]The Team are pleasant, explain things clearly . I recently had my 6 months check up & so relieved to know I've come out the other side.Thank you !!

I hadn’t been to the dentist in 4 years, and had a fear of them, and then fell in the rain and knocked my bridge and 2 teeth out. I phoned in a panic, Nickie was lovely and calming on the phone. I saw dentist Carol that morning, who explained my options. I subsequently had 2 roots removed (absolutely no pain) and now have a new temporary bridge. It’s Debbie Heard from my husband’s Google account.I’ve recently had treatment with Evolve Dentistry. As a child I had poor teeth & gums so it’s always been a ‘thing’! I’ve been ashamed, embarrassed, always had tooth envy. I was told by a dentist at the age of 12 that I would be toothless before I was 30, I proved him wrong & had crowns & bridges fitted & managed to have teeth that looked aesthetically pleasing for a further 30 years. It all came to a head approximately 3 years ago when I had to wear a partial denture. To me it was the end of the world but I amazed myself & adjusted. In October 2024 I had the remainder of my upper teeth removed & had teeth added to my partial as a temporary measure. My current dentist who also is amazing referred me to Mike Gregory at Evolve as she assured me he would do a much better job than she could. My experience at Evolve was second to none from the get go. I met with Julie initially, one of the treatment co-ordinators. She explained how things would pan out over the next couple of months. Nicky on reception was so kind, she put me at ease immediately. Mike & his nurse Jess did exactly the same, I felt so comfortable with them all. My first appointments to the last which was yesterday 12th February were a pleasure, every single person who works at Evolve is amazing! They all go above & beyond. Evolve came recommended and didn’t disappoint, Yasmin and Mike are both at the top end the of game and absolute perfectionists! not to forget there support team who where always friendly and helpful, the reception knew I wanted my treatment completed asap and always called when there was opportunity to move appointments forward. I arrived at evolve with missing teeth, a mouth full of black fillings and a nhs denture that I couldn’t get on with, so I just never wore. I just wanted my old smile back. from day one I’ve been given multiple options to suit my budget and never pushed any given way, I now have better teeth than before! Yasmin remodelled my front teeth and replaced my fillings while Mike made my denture which I hardly know is there and could eat and drink with straight away, the team really invested in helping me and I’m truly grateful, I would highly recommend

This dentist really cares about people who have a fear of them, they have always treated me with the empathy and the care I needed to put me at my ease and have given me the confidence that I can trust them 100% so I can fulfil my treatment without fear. I have tried other dentists before and never went back because I wasn't happy and more scared than ever. So i really am a nervous patient. Yet ive had dentures from them and teeth extracted with sedation and felt safe and not terrified as i trust them with everything that they told me. I travel Two hours to attend my appointment here to have all of the amalgams taken out. 12 teeth in all. Two for each appointment. Its worth it. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I have had a fear of dentists all my life but had to take a chance with this particular treatment because of my condition. I was cautious attending my first appointment, I'd had historical issues with a dentist from another practice in the past. I needn't of worried, I was truly looked after from the moment I arrived and was thoughtfully consulted with before the initial examination and a clear and easy to comprehend treatment plan proposal shared. Everyone at Evolve, the reception staff, nurses, hygienists and the dentists are all friendly, professional and reassuring. They put you at ease and the environment is also very clean and pleasant. Procedures and treatments are explained well and carried out to a high standard. I throughly recommend this dental practice. I have had porcelain veneers for four front four teeth and the difference is remarkable and yet completely natural looking. I am delighted with the result and very happy to be a patient at Evolve.

After a lifetime of wonky teeth I decided to get them straightened and went to Evolve for a consultation. From the moment I walked in the door I felt I was in safe hands. Julie firstly discussed with me the 2 options for teeth straightening - Invisalign or ceramic fixed brace. I then had a consultation with Carol who discussed the options with me further. I never felt rushed or under any pressure to chose a specific one, if in fact any. I have chosen to go with Ceramic Fixed braces and it will take roughly 9 - 12 months. I am currently 3 months in and already friends and family are amazed at the difference. Most people cannot actually see the braces when I am smiling or speaking, but my teeth are already so much straighter. Evolve continue to support my journey and I am so happy I researched reputable Dentists and found the Team at Evolve. Everyone there is so happy and professional, you can tell it is a good place to work. I feel safe, heard, and my hopes for a beautiful smile are understood by the whole team. I don't believe anyone would regret going to Evolve, but you very well might regret NOT going :o)

I came to visit Carol for amalgam extractions and I was pleased with the safety protocols used to remove the mercury. The filings were replaced without issue and pain free. I then had Invisalign to straighten my teeth and I am delighted with the results. The whole team are wonderful and customer centric. I highly recommend.

I was absolutely petrified to go to the dentist due to childhood experiences/trauma many years ago. It took some courage walking through the doors of Evolve Dentistry, however I needn’t had worried as the staff from the Reception Ladies, Julie in the office, the hygienists and a special mention for my dentist Yasmin were all super friendly, put me at ease with their patience and understanding, talked through all my worries and didn’t push for me to have anything done until I was feeling ready. I’ve now had a few procedures the most recent being composite bonding which I am absolutely thrilled with, along with healthy oral hygiene I can finally smile again without feeling embarrassed about my teeth. Have a review booked and am at the stage now I trust them so much I can actually look forward to my on going appointments. Thank you all Evolve team

Visited Evolve after a recommendation. Had an initial consultation chat and then a full check up and xrays with Yasmin. We discussed the results of my check up and also what I wanted from my smile. That's something that was never discussed with my previous dentist.I took the monthly plan offered and came away with costings for other work I wanted done.I'm just gutted I left it so late to find such a wonderful and welcoming practice. All the staff are so friendly and take the time to explain everything from treatment to payment and plans.Thoroughly recommend

All procedures are explained thoroughly and there is never any pressure to have unnecessary procedures. My dental crown and mouth guard have been completed perfectly and the modern technology is amazing. I had zero pain during the dental crown procedure. All round an excellent practice. 👍
