Gappy, crooked or overlapping teeth – Six month smiles?

Many adults spend their entire lives covering their mouths when they laugh, smile or talk. Now, Six month smiles ® offers an effective, safe and affordable cosmetic solution that fits your lifestyle.

They feel stuck because they do not want to wear metal braces for years or they are concerned that other corrective procedures could be too invasive or take too long. Only focussing on the visible teeth that show when you smile, Six Month Smiles uses clear brackets and wires to gently reposition teeth in an average of just six months.

What is Six Month Smiles®?

Six Month Smiles® is a modern twist on tried-and-tested orthodontics. There is little debate within the orthodontic community that braces are the most widely used and most effective method to give patients straight, healthy teeth and a beautiful smile. Six Month Smiles® has taken the best aspects of braces and modified the treatment and the materials to give adults a cosmetic solution that fits your lifestyle.

Here is what makes Six Month Smiles® so innovative

  • Average treatment times of only six months
  • Six Month Smiles Lucid-Lok™ clear brackets and tooth-coloured wires are barely visible
  • Use of braces has shown to provide the most conservative and predictable final result
  • Six Month Smiles Patient Tray Kits™ ensure that your appointments are fast and comfortable
  • Low forces and short overall treatment times increase comfort, safety, and hygiene
  • Six Month Smiles® is typically less expensive than traditional braces, aligner therapy, or veneers

How do six month smiles work in just six months?

The Six Month Smiles® technique employs the latest technology and techniques in dentistry to move your teeth quickly and safely. The key components of the treatment are the use of unique, clear braces and a primary focus of moving the teeth that show when you smile.

How are Six Month Smiles brace more comfortable than traditional braces?

Six Month Smiles® uses low force to move teeth more comfortably. Many people think that the accelerated treatment means simply “tightening” regular braces to get the teeth moving, but that is not true.

How much will it cost?

Please refer to price list on our website or give us a call on 01275 842 550, payment is due in full prior to the brace being fitted.

😴 Can snoring affect your oral health?

In our latest Two Thirty video, Maggie answers a question many people don’t think to ask — can snoring impact your teeth and gums?

The short answer is yes, it can.

Snoring is often linked to breathing through your mouth at night, which can cause a dry mouth. Saliva plays an important role in protecting your teeth, so when your mouth is dry, you may be more prone to tooth decay and bad breath.

If you snore and have noticed dryness, increased decay or concerns about your breath, it’s worth mentioning at your next appointment.

Our reception team at Evolve Dentistry in Portishead will be happy to arrange a consultation if you’d like advice.
⏰ Smile hack: When you brush matters

Did you know it’s not just how long you brush — but when you brush — that makes a difference? Maggie shares an important smile hack about timing your toothbrushing properly.

Brushing straight after eating — especially after acidic foods or drinks like fruit, juice or coffee — can actually do more harm than good. Your enamel is slightly softened, and brushing immediately can cause wear.

Maggie explains the best time to brush and why waiting can help protect your teeth long term.

It’s a small change that can make a big difference to your oral health.

Whether you’re considering braces for yourself or your child, understanding the process can make the journey feel much more reassuring.
