Our Clinical Director, Dr Carol Somerville Roberts, has just completed her longest training ride yet — an incredible 50 kilometres — as she prepares for a life-changing charity cycle from the base of Kilimanjaro to the Ngorongoro Crater in February 2026.
Carol is taking on this huge challenge to raise funds for Bridge2Aid, a charity providing vital emergency dental care and training in Tanzania. The money raised will help run an outreach and training programme where eight Dental Therapists will be trained and around 2,000 people will receive essential dental treatment.
For someone who hasn’t been on a bike in years, months of training in all weathers is no small feat — and we couldn’t be more proud of her determination.

The British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD) has welcomed Carol as its new President as it enters its 22nd year.
Carol has been a dedicated BACD Board Member for 6 years and now steps into the role with a clear vision: to strengthen the academy’s position as the home of ethical cosmetic dentistry and world-class education in the UK.
Carol shared: “I am honoured to have been trusted with the role of President of the BACD. Having practised for almost 30 years, holding the Presidency position is the pinnacle of my career ”
