Chipped teeth are very common. It’s possible you might not even know what caused them, it could be trauma, or accidentally biting on very hard foods, grinding your teeth or using your teeth to open bottles & jars.

If you have chipped, fractured or broken your tooth you should visit your dentist to get it checked. It’s important to check that you haven’t damaged further, or that you don’t have an infection, which cause you to lose a tooth.
How long can I leave a chipped tooth?
Even if you don’t experience any pain, you should get your checked by your dentist to make sure that you haven’t caused any long term damage.
Why did my tooth chip so easily?
One of the most common reasons you may chip a tooth could be due to poor oral hygiene. Your enamel may be weakened by cavities and decay, affecting the integrity of your tooth. Brushing your teeth twice a day for at least 2 minutes will help to reduce the risk.
Do chipped teeth grow back?
Chipping a tooth is one of the most common types of dental problems, unfortunately, tooth material does not grow back. However, it is possible to repair a chipped tooth to improve it’s appearance using composite bonding.
Can a dentist fix a chipped tooth in one day?
Dentists can you composite bonding to improve the appearance of a chipped tooth, this is carried out in one appointment, usually without the need for anaesthetic.
