We are incredibly proud to share that our principal dentist, Dr Carol Somerville Roberts, has been recognised in Dentistry’s Top 50 2026.
Published annually by Dentistry, the Top 50 celebrates people making an exceptional contribution to the dental profession. The list recognises clinicians, educators, leaders and innovators whose work is helping to shape the future of dentistry across the UK.
Carol’s inclusion reflects not only the care she provides to patients at Evolve Dentistry, but also her wider contribution to the profession through education, leadership and her role as President of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD).
Alongside caring for patients at Evolve Dentistry, Carol is proud to serve as President of the BACD, one of the UK’s leading organisations dedicated to promoting excellence in cosmetic dentistry.
In this role, she works alongside fellow clinicians to support education, encourage lifelong learning and help maintain the high standards that patients should expect from modern dentistry.
It is a position that reflects the respect Carol has earned from colleagues throughout the profession and her ongoing commitment to advancing dentistry for both patients and clinicians.
Being recognised in Dentistry’s Top 50 is a reflection of that wider contribution, acknowledging the positive impact she continues to make both inside and outside the practice.
Although Carol is recognised nationally, her philosophy has always remained remarkably simple.
Great dentistry isn’t just about achieving excellent clinical results. It’s about helping people feel comfortable, informed and confident throughout every stage of their journey.
Whether someone visits us for a Healthy Mouth Review, adult orthodontics or a complete smile transformation, our goal is always to provide exceptional care delivered with honesty, kindness and attention to detail.
Those values underpin everything we do at Evolve Dentistry.
While this award carries Carol’s name, she would be the first to say it belongs to the entire team.
Every member of Evolve contributes to the experience our patients receive each day. From the friendly welcome at reception to the expertise of our clinicians and the support provided throughout treatment, delivering outstanding care is always a team effort.
This recognition celebrates the culture we have built together and the shared commitment to continually improving the care we provide.
For patients, this recognition provides reassurance that they are choosing a practice led by someone who is not only committed to delivering exceptional care, but is also helping to shape the future of dentistry at a national level.
We continually invest in education, embrace evidence-based techniques and strive to provide the highest standards of care because our patients deserve nothing less.
Carol said:
“I feel incredibly honoured to be included in Dentistry’s Top 50. It is a privilege to serve as President of the BACD and to work alongside so many talented colleagues who are passionate about improving our profession. Most of all, I’d like to thank our wonderful team at Evolve and every patient who has placed their trust in us. This recognition is something we can all be proud of.”
Congratulations, Carol, on this fantastic and well-deserved achievement.

Book An Introduction Call Are you too old for braces?
It’s one of the questions we hear most often.
The answer surprises a lot of people.
The reality is that age is rarely the deciding factor when it comes to orthodontic treatment. Healthy teeth and gums are usually far more important than the number of candles on your last birthday cake.
If you’ve been thinking:
“I wish I’d done something years ago.”
• “Braces are probably just for teenagers.”
• “Have I left it too late?”
…you’re certainly not alone.
We’ve written a new guide that answers this question honestly, explains what really determines whether you’re suitable for treatment, and helps you understand your options without any pressure.
Because making an informed decision starts with having the right information.

A little progress update from Evolve… 💚
If you’ve visited us recently, you may have noticed that things have looked a little different following the recent water damage.
The good news is that our treatment rooms are now fully operational again, allowing us to continue caring for our patients as normal.
There is still some disruption in other areas of the practice while the building continues to dry out before the final reinstatement work can take place, but we’re making great progress and each week we’re getting a little closer to being back to normal.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to all of our patients for your patience, understanding and kind words over the past few weeks. Your support has meant so much to the whole team.
We’ll continue to share updates as work progresses, and we can’t wait to show you the finished result.

Not everyone who considers braces has crooked teeth.
Sometimes it’s one tooth that’s moved.
Sometimes it’s a bite that doesn’t feel quite right.
Sometimes it’s simply wanting to smile with more confidence.
Swipe through seven common signs that orthodontic treatment might be worth exploring.
If you recognise one or two of them, it doesn’t necessarily mean you need braces -but it might be worth having a conversation.

This weekend, one of our amazing nurses, Kayse, took a huge leap… literally!
She completed a skydive to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society, supporting a cause that means so much to so many families.
We’re incredibly proud of her for taking on such an incredible challenge and for helping to raise awareness and vital funds for Alzheimer’s research and support.
Please join us in congratulating Kayse on an amazing achievement! 🎉\
Awards are wonderful, but what matters most is what they represent.
Being named in Dentistry’s Top 50 isn’t recognition for one great day. It’s recognition for years of building a practice around one simple idea:
Patients deserve to feel informed, listened to and genuinely cared for.
Every conversation.
Every appointment.
Every member of the team.
Thank you to everyone at Evolve who makes that possible every day.
Congratulations Carol, recognition very well deserved.

Can composite bonding stain? ☕
Composite bonding is a fantastic way to enhance your smile, but just like natural teeth, it can pick up stains over time.
Drinks such as tea, coffee and red wine, along with smoking, can gradually affect the appearance of composite bonding. The good news is that there are plenty of ways to help keep your smile looking its best.
✔ Brush twice a day and clean between your teeth regularly
✔ Attend routine hygiene appointments
✔ Rinse with water after consuming staining foods and drinks
✔ Avoid smoking where possible
✔ Follow any aftercare advice provided by your dental team
Many patients enjoy beautiful results from composite bonding for years, and regular maintenance appointments can help keep everything looking fresh and natural.
Considering composite bonding? We’d be happy to discuss whether it’s the right option for your smile.

🦷 Did you know left-handed people often brush their teeth differently?
It might sound surprising, but research suggests that your dominant hand can influence how and where you brush.
Many people naturally spend more time cleaning the side of their mouth that’s easiest to reach, meaning some areas can be missed without even realising it.
The good news? It doesn’t matter whether you’re left or right-handed - the most important thing is having a consistent brushing routine:
🪥 Brush twice a day for two minutes.
🦷 Use a fluoride toothpaste.
✨ Don’t forget to clean every surface of every tooth.
😁 And remember, regular hygiene appointments can help remove plaque and staining from the areas we all tend to miss.
Are you left or right-handed? Let us know in the comments… and next time you brush, pay attention to which side you start on! 👇
The best part of our job?
It’s this.
That first smile when someone sees the result of their treatment.
The confidence that comes from feeling comfortable smiling in photos again.
The relief of finally being out of pain.
The moment someone realises visiting the dentist wasn’t nearly as daunting as they expected.
Behind every smile is a person, a story and a journey. Being trusted to be part of that is something we never take for granted.
Thank you to every patient who chooses Evolve Dentistry. Helping you smile with confidence really is the best part of what we do. 💙
