If what’s holding you back from having your teeth straightened is that you don’t want traditional metal braces or braces fixed to your teeth that people can see, the great news is that those are no longer your only choices. There are 2 new options: 1) Virtually invisible braces, like Invisalign, which use transparent aligners; 2) Braces that are completely invisible, which fix to the back of your teeth.
Here at Evolve we offer 2 different straightening systems for patients wishing to straighten their teeth discreetly. First, there’s Invisalign, a system which uses virtually invisible removable aligners which look like transparent gum shields to reposition teeth. Then there are 2 different lingual brace systems – MTM No Trace, Incognito – which are completely invisible because they’re fitted behind your teeth, so no-one can see them at all.
Lingual braces work just like traditional fixed braces, applying constant gentle pressure to close gaps or fix crowded or twisted teeth. But the big difference is that the wires and brackets are fitted to the back of the teeth rather than to the front. So, nobody will be any the wiser, as they are truly invisible braces.
For those looking for discreet braces, Invisalign offers some key benefits: 1) No fixed wires or brackets; 2) Virtually invisible braces custom-made to fit snugly over your teeth, so most people won’t realise you’re straightening your teeth and you can socialise, smile and talk as normal; 3) Removable clear aligners which you can take out not only for teeth cleaning but for special occasions, as long as it’s only for a couple of hours.
Invisible braces can take less time that you might imagine, with many treatments completing in around 6 months. Invisalign can take as little as 3 months, although typically takes up to 12-18 months. Treatment times for lingual braces range from 4 to 9 months for MTM No Trace or from 6 to 24 months for Incognito. As always, a lot comes down to case complexity.

Bleeding gums are never something to ignore. In this latest Two Thirty episode, Richard explains how gum disease often starts as gingivitis - where the gums become swollen and may bleed - but with the right care, this early stage can often be reversed.
If left untreated, gum disease can progress and may lead to bone loss around the teeth. The good news is that regular hygiene visits and good home care can make a real difference.
Watch the video to learn the signs to look out for and how we can help you maintain a healthy smile.

A lovely evening spent together outside the practice. Last night the Evolve team enjoyed a delicious meal at Aqua in Portishead - a chance to relax, catch up and celebrate the people who make Evolve such a special place to work and visit.
We’re proud of the warm, caring team culture we’ve built, and evenings like this are a great reminder that behind every appointment is a team who genuinely enjoy working together.
Thank you to Aqua for a wonderful evening and fantastic food.

Can cosmetic dentistry improve your confidence?
In this video, Carol answers a question we hear often - and for many patients, the answer is yes.
Feeling confident in your smile can have a real impact on how you feel day to day. Cosmetic dentistry can help improve concerns such as tooth colour, shape, spacing or worn edges, while keeping results natural and suited to you.
Every smile is different, which is why treatment always starts with understanding your goals and recommending the most appropriate options.
If you’ve been thinking about improving your smile, our team at Evolve would be happy to help.

Can a dental device help with snoring?
In this video, Maggie answers a question many people ask - and for some patients, the answer is yes.
Custom-made dental devices can help reduce snoring by gently repositioning the jaw during sleep to help keep the airway more open.
If snoring is affecting your sleep, or someone else’s, it may be worth exploring whether this option could help you.
Speak to our team at Evolve to learn more.
