I had braces as a teenager and at the end of that treatment I had a removable retainer which I was advised to wear for maybe a few months.
As I got older, two wisdom teeth came through and I noticed that my front two teeth crossed very slightly and my upper canine on one side was twisted. Although they weren’t too bad and people would say I had nice teeth, it was causing me to smile with my mouth closed more often than not.
I saw Carol for a consultation and we discussed the options to straighten my teeth. She advised that I straighten both my top and my bottom teeth to ensure that my bite was correct. Although the appearance of my bottom teeth didn’t bother me, I agreed that it would be best to straighten both top and bottom. I figured if I was going to have braces on the top, I might as well have them on the bottom at the same time. I opted for fixed braces and wore them for 9 months. As soon as the braces were removed I couldn’t stop smiling, I was so pleased with the result and I am so glad that I did it.
My new smile gives me so much more confidence. If anyone is thinking of having braces to straighten their teeth, I would say go for it. You will not regret it!
