A hygiene appointment plays an important role in keeping your teeth and gums healthy. While brushing and flossing at home are essential, there are areas of the mouth that are difficult to clean effectively without professional help.
Regular hygiene visits help remove plaque and tartar, reduce the risk of gum disease and keep your mouth feeling fresh.

During your hygiene appointment we carefully remove plaque and tartar from the teeth and along the gum line.
This process helps reduce the bacteria that can cause gum disease.
Once the teeth are clean, they are usually polished to remove surface stains and leave the teeth feeling smooth.
This can help improve the appearance of your smile and make it more difficult for plaque to stick to the teeth.

The ideal frequency of hygiene appointments varies between patients.
